Triple Date Night~

Tres Bien
Evening

Phoenix looked around the restaurant nervously. This was his first date night with an couple, and he didn't want to mess this up. He checked his watch, then looked around some more. He felt so weird, waiting in this restaurant, totally alone. He should've insisted on picking up Miles after work.

(OOC: Lang and Franzi are pretty in sync by now in the timeline, so we'll be including the other in our posts to save time.)

Franziska and Lang arrived at the restaurant next. Lang wore his usual pants and boots, but with a white collared shirt, the top few buttons undone and the sleeves rolled up past his elbows. He was holding the door for Franziska who wore a grey billowing off-the-shoulder tunic dress. Ordinarily, she would have gone for something more form fitting, but the bandages around her chest made awkward lumps under tighter garments.

"Thank you, but I'm perfectly capable of opening doors, Shi-Long," she smirked, walking past him. "My ribs are broken, not my arms."

"I'm just trying to help you heal," he countered. "How many times have you rebroken them now?"

She didn't want to answer that, but she didn't have to. "Phoenix Wright!" she called, spotting the lawyer. She took Lang by the hand and pulled him with her. "Has anyone else arrived yet?"

Phoenix shook his head, "No, Franziska von Karma. I'm worried Miles might not make it. Will Mia and Godot be here soon?" He knew Mia wouldn't let him feel like the awkward fifth wheel if she could help it.

Franziska nodded. "Most likely. I know Mia was getting ready, so she and Diego should be here soon."

"Mia was getting ready? We'll be here all night, waiting for her!" Phoenix chuckled at his joke. "You know how much of a perfectionist Chief is."

Sure enough, Mia wasn't ready yet. "How much longer now...?" Godot asked from where he lay across her bed. He had been sitting, but some time ago, he'd flopped back with impatience.

"Not long at all!" Mia replied cheerfully as she finished putting on her makeup. She looked at herself in the mirror. "How do I look, Diego? I feel as though the blush is making me look washed out." She turned to look at him.

Godot pushed himself up onto his elbows. "You look beautiful, kitten, as always. Now come on, we'll be the last ones there."

"Good," Mia smiled and grabbed her purse. "We probably are the last ones there, you know how punctual Franziska is. Now, since the FeyMobile is in the shop still, I guess we'll have to take the CoffeeMobile!" She gave him a cheesy grin.

Lang looked around the restaurant. "Why don't we find a table in the mean time?" Then he cocked his head at Phoenix. "Wasn't Edgeworth supposed to be here?"

"Yeah," Phoenix answered miserably. "I don't know where he could be, though."

Godot chuckled at Mia's name for his car and wrapped his arm around her as they walked out the door. "Come on, you. Let's go get dinner."

"I didn't think it was like him to be late," Lang puzzled.

"He's been keeping to himself quite a lot recently," Franziska explained quietly. "We're none of us quite sure what's going on with him."

Mia leaned on him as they walked. "I know you secretly love its name." She smiled mischievously. "Everyone does. We should paint a huge coffee mug on the hood!"

"It's me," Phoenix said sorrowfully. "I think he's going to leave me, but can't figure out how to."

"What a foolish thought," Franziska frowned. "The two of you were practically engaged."

"What else could it be, Franziska?" Phoenix asked. "He's going to leave...He hasn't seemed interested in anything other than himself." He looked away, feeling the waterworks start to come on behind his eyes.

Lang shifted uncomfortably, unsure of how to respond. He hadn't expected tonight to turn so depressing, much less before it even really began. "I'm sure it's something else," he offered. "Maybe Edgeworth has been working on a case of a... sensitive nature that's needed him full time."

"Of course," Phoenix said sarcastically. "And I'm just his boyfriend. I'm no big deal. I'm sure if Franzi was busy with a sensitive case, she'd tell you, wouldn't you, Franziska?"

(OOC: Since Franzi's at work and she posted for me earlier...)

"Well," Franziska began hesitantly. "INTERPOL assigned Shi-Long as my partner, so the comparison doesn't work, he'd already know."

Lang hissed out of the corner of his mouth, "For the record, I'd elbow you in the ribs if you weren't injured. That didn't help at all."

Phoenix sighed, and buried his face in his hands. "Oh, does it really matter? All that matters is tonight, right? We're here to just hang out together, not worry about stupid drama."

"Come on," Lang said, clapping Phoenix on the shoulder. "Everything will work out for the best." He had been away from his men for sometime, so he was a bit rusty, but it felt good to have someone to lean on him again.

"Thanks, brah," Phoenix gave Lang a forced smile. "I kinda do feel better now."

Godot squeezed Mia in a mock headlock. "If one drop of your paint touches my car..." he laughed. They got to the car, and in no time, they were on their way to the restaurant.

Mia looked over at Godot as he drove. "I know that means you want me to makeover the CoffeeMobile, deep down in your heart," she chuckled.
