Not Alone

"Then I guess I shouldn't spend the night like I was planning to, huh?" Miles laughed. "So, what's the point of this game, anyway?"

"To defeat the Evil Magistrate!" Phoenix said as he landed a left punch to his opponent. "And to kick ass as the Steel Samurai and the Pink Princess!"

'This is a game I could definitely get into!' Miles thought as he quickly remembered the Pink Princess' move list and started to do fairly well in the game. "This is a pretty fun game, Wright...!"

"Yeah!" Phoenix yelled triumphantly as he defeated a henchman. "Who's your daddy?" he taunted his television.

Miles blushed when he heard Phoenix's taunt. "Phoenix... it was just a grunt... There are plenty more where that one came from...!"

'WHY AM I BLUSHING. What is wrong with me today?!'

"Still..." Phoenix blushed. "It doesn't hurt to get involved in the game...It helps me kick ass..."

"Oh well..." Miles shook the blush away from his face. "Whatever helps your performance, I suppose."

"And right now, taunting helps my performance," Phoenix innocently said, not realizing the innuendo. "I just love getting all up in their faces and belittling them before smacking them around."

Miles' blush came back, a deeper red. 'Does... please say he's not realizing what he's saying. IS IT JUST ME OR IS IT GETTING HOT IN HERE.'

"Are you alright?" Phoenix looked over at Edgeworth's deep blush. "Edgeworth, are you...blushing?"

"NO!" Miles blurted out. "I mean... I'm just working up a bit of a sweat from this game."

Phoenix shrugged, "Alright then, do you wanna do something else so you don't get sweat on your perfect clothes?" he teased playfully.

"Or I could just take off my suit. Not even overheating will let the Evil Magistrate run free!" Miles temporarily lost himself in the game as he took off his suit jacket, suit vest, and button up shirt, leaving a wife beater covering his chest.

Phoenix chuckled, "You seem to get really into this." He took off just his jacket, and rolled up his sleeves.

"Eh?" Miles realized how far stripped he had actually gotten and blushed once again. "I... somewhat like the Steel Samurai."

"Somewhat?" Phoenix snickered. "You're as bad as Cody Hackins down the street. And he hero worships the Steel Samurai."

Miles smiled and laughed nervously. 'how the crap am i making this much of a damn fool of myself? Better question, how can I get myself OUT OF THIS MESS.' He drew a blank.

Phoenix continued to beat the henchmen easily. "Isn't this fun, Edgeworth?" He smiled at the stoic prosecutor.

Once getting out of his shy rut and back into the game, Miles got back in his groove and was also destroying wave after wave of henchmen. "Yeah!" He was having an unexpected amount of fun with his courtroom rival. It was an odd sensation, fun with a rival.

Phoenix continued to defeat henchmen with his Pink Princess by his side. 'Wait...did I just think of Edgeworth as my Pink Princess??' he worried. He decided to stop thinking and just to play the game.

"Be sure to watch out for the Rogues. They're the worst cause they have nothing to lose." Miles warned Phoenix about the unpredictable waves of enemies, wondering when the Evil Magistrate would show up.

"Alright, I think this is the last level before the Evil Magistrate," Phoenix nodded, and went gung ho into it, punching villains left and right. He let out his usual battlecry occasionally, tossing out "OBJECTIONS!" like candy on Christmas day.

The video game duo arrived at the door to the final boss room, where the Evil Magistrate lied in wait. "Are you ready, Nick? This is it." Miles looked over at Phoenix and smirked, knowing victory was well within their grasp.

"Can you handle this, Miles?" Phoenix grinned. "Let's do this." That said, he happily pressed the A button to continue.

On the screen before them was the visage of the Evil Magistrate. "So, you have made it this far, young warriors, but see if you can get past THIS!" His voice seemed to echo throughout the house as he laughed and began attacking.
