Not Alone

"Oh my, it looks like we scared her off. Oops!" Miles feigned remorse. "Whatever shall we do?"

"Move to the bed?" Phoenix suggested. "It'd be more comfortable than doing it on the carpeting. Unless...you just wanna snuggle?"

"Well, the mood was kind of killed once Mia showed up... If we could move to the bed and snuggle?" Miles nervously chuckled, his cheeks tinged red..

"Of course," Phoenix kissed his cheek lovingly, then got up, and helped Edgeworth up as well. "I'm so happy you called me," he smiled as they laid together in bed.

"As am I, Phoenix. As am I." Miles wrapped an arm around Phoenix's shoulders. "Imagine if I ended up calling someone else. Like my pizza guy."

Phoenix chuckled. "Would you have tried to 'do the nasty' with him, too?" he teased, snuggling close to Miles. "'Cause we all know I'm nothing special."

"If I ever did that, I would be left without a pizza place to order from." Miles laughed out. "Paco scared the rest of them away and I was put on the no delivery list."

"That sucks, poor little Edgey, unable to order pizza," Phoenix teased playfully. "Though honestly, I can't see you ordering pizza. You're just so proper."

"My dear friend, it doesn't hurt every once in a while to mix it up. Life can't always be lobster and caviar. Sometimes I enjoy buying a pizza and a cheap wine and watching a rugby match!"

Phoenix burst out in laughter. "Geez, you're so British!" he chortled. "Edgey, you gotta lighten up."

"Rugby is me lightening up! Have you ever seen a rugby match?" Miles looked over at Phoenix. "It's a fairly intense sport, to put it lightly."

Phoenix smiled, and kissed his cheek. "Miles, you're too cute," he cuddled closer, and a thought occurred to him. "How awkward do you think work will be, since Mia's now seen me practically naked?"

"That's... A good question." Miles pondered for a moment. "I suppose she'll try to repress the memory as best she can. I'm sure Maya will be confused, though."

"Poor Mia..." Phoenix laughed a bit. "I mean, I sure wouldn't wanna see her naked. Not when I have the sexiest prosecutor ever as my boyfriend."

"You're too kind!" Miles leaned over and kissed Phoenix. "By the way, I wasn't kidding about the rugby. You should watch it some time."

"Maybe we should watch it together," Phoenix held Edgeworth's hand tightly. "We could order some pizza, snuggle together on the couch, and watch rugby. Does that sound fun?"

Miles blushed at the sudden clasping of his hand. "Some time, but not now. It's getting a bit late and there are no matches on right now." He began absentmindedly stroking the back of Phoenix's hand with his thumb. "Besides, we already ate."

"A later time, then," Phoenix kissed his cheek. "How do you think everyone will feel about this? Especially Franziska," he worried, his grey eyes clouding in concern.

"Looking back on things, some might have thought this was only a matter of time... But I'm not sure about Franziska." Miles thought about his 'sister' and how she might react. For some reason he thought of Franziska and Phoenix in a western style showdown. He chuckled at the thought and shook it from his mind. "In any case, you shouldn't have much to worry about with your 'sexy prosecutor' to protect you."

"Oh? Is heroic Prince Miles going to save me from big, bad Franziska?" Phoenix smirked, and kissed him lightly.

"Only if you want me to." Miles returned the kiss. He could feel his eyelids getting heavy. "It IS getting late... I should probably be heading home."

"Are you sure? You could spend the night here," Phoenix smiled at him. "I just don't want you driving around this late at night."

"Such a worry wart..." Miles chuckled. "But if you really want me to... I don't see the problem!"

"Yes," Phoenix smiled. "I'd hate to have to worry about you, Miles."

"And I'd hate to have you worry about me. Looks like I'm staying here, then." Miles furrowed his brow in thought. "Wait, what time is Maya supposed to be home tomorrow?"
