Magic is Friendship!

Trucy came out onstage nervously, but was hiding her nerves well. She grinned at her audience, and dazzled them with her magic.

"It's fine Mr. Wright, you can have them, I'm just gonna order myself something nice and light, a diet coke maybe."

"Are you sure?" Phoenix raised an eyebrow. "It's just one little beer. It's not even German this time!" He laughed.

"I'm sure Mr. Wright." He pushed the beer away and took a sip of his soon arriving diet coke. He watched Trucy perform her tricks, a smile never leaving his face. After every trick, Trucy would bow, and Apollo would clap for her, the loudest and the longest.

Phoenix shrugged and drank both of the beers while he watched Trucy's performance, smiling and applauding. He let out an occasional cheer, warranting odd looks from the rest of the crowd, but he didn't care.

At the end, Trucy bowed, and slipped backstage once more. Her heart was pounding with the adrenaline rush that always came from performing, and she smiled as she put her magic tricks away and left through the stage door.

Phoenix and Apollo were waiting for her at the stage entrance. He clapped once more and smiled to her as she exited the stage. "That was pretty amazing Trucy."

"Yeah, it was great!" Phoenix grinned at Trucy and gave her a big bear hug. "What'd I tell you? You're a brilliant magician!"

Trucy smiled widely, "Thanks, Daddy and Apollo! I think I did well!" She returned the hug, and hugged Apollo as well.

"You really were awesome Trucy. I'll be coming by to see your show next week too! Don't forget that." Apollo was being honest for the most part, but found sitting down somewhat boring. "If you want, I'll even help you practice your tricks!"

"Really??" Trucy beamed. "That'd be great if you could be my assistant, Polly!" She began to skip happily back home, giggling giddily.

Phoenix looked at Apollo in surprise. "You have no idea what you just agreed to," he snickered. "She might just try to saw you in half, Apollo."

"Yeah well, that's just whats going to have to happen. I didn't know I had a sister until a while ago and well...it made me kinda happy. It's lonely being an only child, let along being one at an orphanarium...But now that I've got a sister...I've got someone who looks up to me. It feels really good Mr. Wright, doing something for someone."

Slow it down Justice, you sound like you're in a chick flick.

Phoenix chuckled at Apollo's spiel. "Wow, Justice, didn't know you were so in touch with your feelings. But I guess I know what you mean. It's how I felt when I took in Trucy when her father disappeared. It was hard adjusting, going from Ace Attorney to Ace Dad in literally a month, but I have no regrets at all."

He smiled and began to walk, trying to at least keep Trucy in his eyesight. "And I think Ace Piano and Poker Player was thrown in there somewhere to huh?" He laughs and rubs the back of his head. He was having a wonderful night tonight and just now reached inside to see just how lucky he was to find a family. And hey, I dunno if I even thanked you but...thanks Mr. Justice...for everything you've done for Trucy and I."

"It's nothing," Phoenix smiled at Apollo as he began to follow Trucy. "We're family, so we gotta watch out for each other, right?"

"Yeah. You bet. In fact." His face sported a smile. "I even got a raise at my courier job today!" He eventually hustled up and caught up with Trucy. "Hey Trucy, it's a nice night tonight, there's no need to rush."

"I'm not rushing," Trucy giggled, twirling around some on the sidewalk. "I'm rejoicing, Polly!"

Phoenix walked alone behind his adopted kids, humming contently. He was thinking about how lucky he was to have two great kids such as Apollo and Trucy. 'Come on, Phoenix, you're starting to sound womanly,' he scolded himself internally.

He smiled and replayed the previous conversation he had with Phoenix in his head. He smiled and eventually gasped. "E-Eh. Trucy, I've got to go deliver a package, I just remembered. Tell Mr. Wright I said sorry I couldn't make the most of this night! I'll catch you two at home!" He said, waving and running off out of sight.

"Um...alright?" Trucy stood on the sidewalk watching Apollo dash off as Phoenix caught up to her. "Ready to go home? We could watch more Steel Samurai!"

"Sure thing, Truce," Phoenix nodded as the two walked home. "Such a shame about Apollo, hm? Ah, well, there'll be another Family Night, I suppose."

"Yeah," Trucy agreed as they sat on the couch as she started up the Steel Samurai DVD in the TV. "But this is nice, too. I hardly ever get a chance for a Steel Samurai marathon!"

The two watched the Steel Samurai all night, and the sun was just coming up when Phoenix realized something. "Polly never came back after delivering his package!" He jumped up from the couch frantically. "Where could he be?"

"Let's go to the delivery office," Trucy suggested anxiously, and they made their way there. She asked Apollo's boss where he was, and he merely shook his head and shrugged. She looked desperately at Phoenix. "Daddy...what if he's gone missing?"
