An Average Day At Work

"So. Where exactly are we supposed to go now Mr. Wright? What do we look for first? Do we got find Godot? Because I have no idea where he is."

And I left my lawn chair in there! Good thing I've got dozens more...

"I dunno where he is, either," Phoenix shrugged, then took some coffee candy out of his pocket. "The Godot loves coffee."

"So are you suggesting we put coffee candy on a little rope and pull it towards us whenever he goes to grab it?"

Actually, that sounds like so much fun!

"Yes!" Phoenix grinned. "Now, I have string, and a bag of coffee candy. Let's do this, Polly!"

"One problem Mr. Wright...If we don't know where Godot is, how are we going to set the trap for him?"

Yes! I never thought I'd get to do that again! Not after the Steel Samurai doll and Trucy!!

"Um....good question," Phoenix frowned. "LET'S GO ASK EDGEWORTH!"

"Edgeworth? I have no idea where he is either. That guy's out all the time. Like when I delivered the Steel Samurai DVD's. Or when I delivered the Steel Samurai comforter..."

As long as we can still lure Godot with some candy on a string.

"No, he's sure to be in his office now," Phoenix assured him. "Let's go ask him. All prosecutors know where each other are."

"So can't we ask Mr. Gavin? I know where he is. And we can still ask him to go check up on Trucy, that's two birds and one stone, Mr. Wright." He continued to wonder what the harm was for one little visit.

"No, Edgeworth," Phoenix insisted. "He'll know better than that glimmerous fop." With that, he dragged Apollo with him to the twelfth floor of the office building.

Apollo sighed as his collar was not only tugged on but was getting stretched out, not like he had the money to pay for it, or anything. He decided that not having to walk was not only less tiring, but funner.

How many people live in this building if it has twelve floors!?

Phoenix knocked on the door to Edgeworth's office impatiently. "I'm betting Miles will know where Godot is! Come on, Miles, open up!"

Miles begrudgingly got up from his desk, only hearing a rapid knocking at his door. "Is there something I can help you wi-" He opened the heavy oak door to see two familiar faces. "Phoenix? Courier boy? What are you two doing here?"

"Do you know where Godot is?" Phoenix asked quickly. "We need to tell him something important!"

"Last I checked he said he was questing to Seattle for the 'Perfect cup of Coffee.' I can pass on the message, if you want." Miles said, strangely interested in the information.

"But I got coffee candy," Phoenix said sadly. "And string!" Then he remembered why he was looking for Godot to begin with. "Miles, are you cheating on me with Mia?"

I can't believe we got so distracted with a string and some candy to remember the whole reason we left. "She's getting pretty suspicious, since I saw her here yesterday..."

"Wait... what?" Miles stared in shock as Phoenix questioned his fidelity and as Courier boy encouraged it! "Wh...Why would you even ask such a thing?"

"Why else would you spend so much time with her?" Phoenix worried. "And...y'know...she's pretty well endowed..." He looked down sadly.

"We're just working on a case. The two groups want to settle out of court but the negotiations are taking forever." Miles shrugged. "Besides, while Ms. Fey has nice.... assets... she really needs to wear a t-shirt every once in a while."

"Alright," Phoenix kissed Miles' cheek. "I'll see you later, Edgey? I gotta get back to the office with Courier Boy here."

I guess that explains a little, as to why Ms. Von Karma was there as well, but why exactly did they get together? Working on a case together? Their jobs are practically to fight against each other...and Ms. Von Karma isn't the woman to just sit down and talk about things either...There's just something that doesn't feel right here... "Why settle the case out of court? Isn't it your job to do it in court?"

"Look, Courier Boy, it's not up to the attorneys to decide how the case is settled. The clients decided it'd be better to settle it quietly." Miles glared at the young attorney. "Less of a media outcry, you know?"

I don't think I've ever seen that happen actually, ever. But no client of mine has ever specified. I guess it makes sense though. But if that was the only reason, what did Ms. Fey mean when she said she'd tell us when the time is right? Is she only going to tell us when the case is over? While Apollo was deep in though he had his eyes closed and his index finger pushed up to his forehead, as he would usually do in court.

"Let's just go back to the office," Phoenix suggested to Apollo. "We might get something out of Chief this time around."
