Re: Just Another Day
Phoenix looked around his kitchen, "Nah, I got everything. Besides, you're a guest, so just watch some TV or something." He smiled at Edgeworth. "But thanks for the offer. The muffins will be ready in about half an hour."
Re: Just Another Day
"Sounds good." Miles walked over to the couch and sat down. He grabbed the remote and flipped through the channels, looking for something to watch.

Phoenix began to clean up as the muffins baked, feeling a little better. "Hey, Edgey, are you hung over, too?" He inquired as he sat down on the couch next to Edgey.
Re: Just Another Day
"Not nearly as much as you. I had my one and a half drinks over the time you had your three." Miles continued searching for something to watch.

"Lightweight," Phoenix teased. He got up to look out the window, and saw his car was in perfect condition. "Damn, Edgey, I'm impressed that you didn't crash at all last night with your one and a half Jagerbombs."
Re: Just Another Day
"I can hold my liquor. I just said I've never been drunk. I've had some pretty strong wines, so that wasn't a major problem for me." Miles decided to leave the television on an infomercial. "Besides, I wouldn't let you drive home in your pristine condition. We'd both get killed."

Re: Just Another Day
"Hey, I can drive while drunk," Phoenix was slightly hurt. "I wasn't that bad, was I?" He looked at the timer for his muffins so Edgeworth wouldn't see his blush.
Re: Just Another Day
"Phoenix, you were in the middle of an emotional breakdown. You began acting like a child when we got back to your apartment. Besides, I wasn't going to let you break the law. The police would be more lenient with me, the less drunk one." Miles continued to focus on the television, which was now offering a two for one deal on an item of no interest to him.

Re: Just Another Day
"Oh..." Phoenix busied himself with checking on the muffins. "Guess Maya leaving had more of an effect on me than I'd care to acknowledge." He looked at Edgeworth, "How's Gumshoe doing?"
Re: Just Another Day
"He's been all right, I'd assume. He did come down with a cold the other day, which is why I was the one who brought you the DNA results." Miles sniffed the air. "Those muffins are smelling good. What kind of recipe did you use?"

Re: Just Another Day
Phoenix smiled, "A Wright Original recipe." The timer went off, and Phoenix pulled the pan out of the oven and set it on the counter. Phoenix turned off the oven and looked at Edgeworth, "You at all worried about tomorrow's trial?"
Re: Just Another Day
"Oh... right... that." Miles had somewhat forgotten about the case after the excitement of the previous night. "I know I'll be fine. I have been my whole career."

"Mhm," Phoenix began to put the muffins on a plate and set it on the table. "Well, Mr. Genius Prosecutor, you're going up against Genius Defense Attorney. And I'm pretty sure I'll win. I DO have..." he stopped, remembering Maya had left. "I mean, I don't need a spirit medium to win, right?"
Re: Just Another Day
"I don't know why you would need one in the first place. But I'm sure you'll be fine as well. You DO have all your evidence in order, correct?" Miles got up and looked at the plate of still steaming muffins. "Ok, these look absolutely phenomenal."

Re: Just Another Day
"Thanks, Edgey," Phoenix went to get out the milk from the fridge. "And why wouldn't my evidence be in order?...Oh, yeah...Maya's not here to organize it. But how hard could it be?"
Re: Just Another Day
"All you need is to have every piece of evidence in order that supports your side of the case. I'm working to get your client proven guilty, you're trying to get an innocent verdict. Honestly, it's not that hard." Miles shrugged.

Re: Just Another Day
"True," Phoenix mused. "Though I don't work towards a 'not guilty' verdict. I'm working towards finding the ultimate truth."
Re: Just Another Day
"So, what you're saying is that if you determine that your client is, in fact, guilty, you would tell the court?" Miles looked at Phoenix, confused as to his meaning. "Color me crazy but I don't think that's doing your job properly."

Re: Just Another Day
"Color me crazy, but I always check to make sure my client is really guilty before I take a case," Phoenix countered. "Would you rather condemn an innocent man to death, or let a guilty man run free?" His hand went to the magatama in his pocket subtly.
Re: Just Another Day
"As long as the defendant is given a fair trial, then it should be obvious to the jury what the verdict is. Can we drop this before it gets into a major fight? We have to make sure tomorrow's trial as unbiased a possible." Miles tried to quell the situation before it got too out of hand.

Re: Just Another Day
"What jury?" Phoenix was confused. "Usually, we battle with our words, then the judge makes a verdict. What's a jury?"
Re: Just Another Day
"I keep forgetting that juries aren't used here... It doesn't matter, anyway. Just drop it and eat your muffins." Miles eyed said pastries with an sneaky glint in his eyes. "Before I eat them myself."

Re: Just Another Day
"Fine," Phoenix shrugged and took a muffin, and bit into its deliciousness. "This has been fun, Edgey. Almost like grade school," he joked. "The only thing missing is Larry."
Re: Just Another Day
"I suppose so." Miles grabbed a muffin and took a bite. "Wow... I didn't know you could cook, Wright...!" He took another bite. "Speaking of cooking, where are we going for that lunch you promised me?"

Re: Just Another Day
Phoenix chuckled, "What can I say? I am a man of many talents." He took another bite of his muffin. "I was thinking of going to the cafe down the street from my office. Unless you have somewhere you wanted to go?"
